ABOUT LOUGHBOROUGH JUDO CLUB

A judo fight

The Loughborough Judo Club was founded by Mr Keith Hudson in 1970 at the church hall in King St, Loughborough. Due to the church being sold, the club moved to the St John ambulance rooms in Packe St, Loughborough. In 2005 Mr Keith Kendall took over running the club as coach, having been associated with the club for many years. The club later moved to Rosebery community centre, Storer road, Loughborough where it remained until 2020 for over 40 years. Rosebery community centre closed down due to lack of funding during the pandemic in 2021. A new venue was found in 2021 at the United Reformed Church community centre, Frederick St, Loughborough. The Loughborough Judo Club has always been affiliated to the Amateur Judo Association. All the coaches have AJA coaching qualifications and current first aid certificates DBS and CRE Checks. Mr Keith Kendall is the current chairman of the national AJA and President of the East Midland area AJA. The club is open to members of all ages from 4 to 80. New members are always welcome.
